Special Guest Post by Holly – Follow Me by Sara Shephard

(Ed. note: Sara Shephard is Holly’s favorite author. When I was approached by the marketing department of Disney Publishing contacted me about reviewing her latest novel, I knew it was not for me to review. Without further ado, I give you Holly’s thoughts on the second book in Sara Shephard’s The Amateurs series.)

Synopsis from the Publisher:

“It was the perfect night for a party. That is, until twenty-one-year-old Chelsea Dawson disappeared. The social media star was last seen enjoying a beautiful summer night at the Jersey Shore with her friends. But after an explosive fight with her ex-boyfriend, she vanished without a trace. When Seneca, Maddox, Aerin, and Madison hear about the suspected kidnapping, they notice a jarring detail about the victim: she looks exactly like Aerin’s sister, Helena, who was killed five years earlier. Seneca is convinced she knows who killed Helena, and she can’t shake the feeling that the same person has taken Chelsea. Desperate for answers about the two girls, and the truth behind her mother’s murder, Seneca will stop at nothing to find out if the cases are linked. So when Maddox receives an invitation to the Shore from none other than their primary suspect, the Amateurs begin an intense new investigation. Full of disturbing secrets, startling twists, and horrifying revelations, the second book in #1 New York Times best-selling author Sara Shepard’s The Amateurs series follows the team down a twisted path—one crafted by a brilliant killer.”

Holly’s Thoughts: The sequel to The Amateurs, Follow Me proves to be just as thrilling and intricate as the first book. If you haven’t read the first book, I recommend starting with that, since the sequel is off-balance without the background knowledge and jumps right in with exposition.

Follow Me once is once again centered around Maddox, Aerin, Seneca, Madison, and of course,  the antagonist Brett. Like last time, Brett’s actions bring the group together, but this time they know who has committed the crime. Brett baits the group to come stop him, find the missing girl, and solve the entire case. The question remains whether they can do so.

What I liked about book was how well thought out it was; all of the details interlock just like a good mystery book. This book was a fast-paced read, and it keeps you hooked until the end. With the twist ending (of course), I can say there will be a sequel. So make sure you read the first book, and pick up a copy of Follow Me at your local bookstore.
