Despite the series of hack attacks and the threats made by the North Korea, Sony Pictures has decided to move forward with “The Interview” release. Sony officially announced that its giving permission for theaters willing to screen the picture. And now the movie has been released online for streaming as well.

Google has taken the responsibility for releasing the movie online via Google Play, and YouTube. People in the US and Canada can now stream the movie online. Microsoft is also offering the movie via Xbox Video and it’s also available at www.seetheinterview.com.

“Last Wednesday Sony began contacting a number of companies, including Google, to ask if we’d be able to make their movie, “The Interview,” available online. We’d had a similar thought and were eager to help—though given everything that’s happened, the security implications were very much at the front of our minds,” Google wrote on a blog post. “But after discussing all the issues, Sony and Google agreed that we could not sit on the sidelines and allow a handful of people to determine the limits of free speech in another country (however silly the content might be).”

It’s great to see the media company standing up those bullies. Although the folks who already saw the movie, says it’s just not worth all the effort. But, I guess you’re gonna have to see for yourself.

“The movie underneath all of that hype isn’t worthy of a quarter of the digital ink that’s been spilled on it. If this is the hill we’ve chosen to die on, it was a pretty poor choice,” says Polygon.

“I can confirm with confidence that the least important element of the story of The Interview is The Interview itself.” ~ The Verge
