Sony has unveiled an upgraded version of their waterproof flagship smartphone Xperia Z, dubbed as Xperia Z Ultra. This is rather a phablet than a smartphone as it comes packed with a huge 6.4-inch display.

Sony’s new phablet gets powered by 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core CPU,  2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and the giant display touts full HD Triluminos with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. This is actually even bigger than Samsung’s recently unveiled giant Galaxy Mega.

Cnet, who went hands-on with this device says “Sony has set a very high benchmark with the Xperia Z Ultra”, and that Samsung will have to come up with something way better with Galaxy Note 3 to beat this.
