The Internet is full of dire apocalyptic warnings proclaiming impending disasters, man-made or natural. If you take apocalypse-porn seriously, they can keep you wide awake at night which could engender your own personal end of days from assorted illnesses due to chronic sleep deprivation.
I make a conscious effort not to post about these cries of alarm, either because in the case of catastrophic natural disasters like a feared eruption of a super-volcano in Yellowstone National Park, there’s really little, if any, we can do about them; or because so many warnings of a coming economic collapse and of martial law turn out to be false.
As an example, in January 2013, Doug Hagmann, a self-described “multi-state private investigator,” predicted that martial law was coming in the Spring which would “change life significantly for the average American.” Hagmann claims to have an informant inside the Obama administration’s Department of Homeland Security whom he calls “DHS insider.” As we all know, spring came and went, but there was no disaster or martial law. In fact, 2013 and most of 2014 had passed, but life for the “average American” remains alarmingly the same. I stopped paying attention to Hagmann after that.
That being said, two recent events warrant our attention. I have no idea what they mean, but they have triggered my “spider” sense. They may be portents of something wicked this way comes.
Blackouts of select conservative news websites
Early Tuesday morning, Dec. 2, 2014, as reported by BeforeItsNews.com, The Blaze and other sites, several very popular conservative websites — Drudge Report, WND, Natural News — went offline for an unknown reason. People trying to access those websites instead got an error message “This webpage is not available,” with no explanation.
As Natural News’ Mike Adams pointed out, what is noteworthy about the incident are the following:
- The outage was selective, not general.
- The websites that were blocked were fully functional, that is, the problem wasn’t at their end.
- Only online news sites were blacked out.
- Only conservative online news sites were blacked out.
According to Before It’s News technical staff, the selective targeting of news websites could have been accomplished by “deep packet inspection used inside the routers that move information packets along the internet. This technology allows ISP’s to look inside the packets your computer sends and receives and then make a decision to allow the packets through, modify the packets or block them. This technique can also be used to slow or speed up traffic.”
Kentucky Emergency Alert
A week later, on Dec. 9, 2014, thousands of cell phone users in the Corbin and London areas of southern Kentucky received an emergency alert from the Federal Communication Commission’s (FCC) Wireless Emergency Alert system, warning of a “civil emergency” requiring the recipient of the message to “prepare for action.”
At the same time, residents of Kentucky’s Laurel County reported seeing military helicopters performing low-flying maneuvers immediately after receiving the civil emergency alert. Over a hundred Kentuckians flooded the comments of the Laurel County Sheriff Department’s Facebook page, attesting to how frightened people were by both the emergency alert message and the sound of low flying military choppers rattling their roofs. Leila Hughes wrote: “6 black helicopters above our house this morning shook the whole house!! Then this. scary!”

Frankfort Emergency Operations spokesman Buddy Rogers later said that the civil emergency alert had been mistakenly sent out “during testing” and was the result of “a computer error, followed by a human error.”
But the fact that the helicopters left London airport immediately after the alert message was sent out led some to fear that a terrorist attack or other major event had taken place, while others expressed the view that the whole sequence of events was a test run for martial law. Vince Bowling wrote: “I don’t care what they say, that wasn’t a test, it was a warning….there’s a few other comments from people that know what I’m talking about.”
Another idea making the rounds was that the initial civil emergency text message was sent out to the wrong group and that it was only meant for government employees and emergency responders.
As InfoWars reports, there have been similar mysterious emergency alert messages that also prompted confusion and panic, including:
- On Dec. 12, 2011, Verizon customers in New Jersey received text messages warning them that a “civil emergency” was in progress and to “take shelter,” prompting alarmed citizens to flood 911 lines with anxious calls.
- More recently on October 24, 2014, television viewers in Austin, Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; Detroit, Michigan; across North Carolina; and other areas of the country were interrupted by an alert directly from the White House warning them to stand by for an emergency message and not to use their phones. AT&T blamed a “nationally syndicated radio station” for sending the alert message, despite the fact that only the President of the United States can activate the Emergency Alert Notification system in times of emergency, reports Fox 5.

According to what I’m hearing from several sources in my network of contacts, the U.S. government is putting systems in place to black out online news sites like Natural News, Drudge Report, The Blaze and many others. A practice run that took place earlier this week in California has already achieved this result and confirmed the technical ability to make it happen at will. […]
This selective blocking that took place earlier this week is widely believed to have been a dry run for a planned online news site blockade by the federal government during an upcoming “major event.”
What sort of major event? The sort of major event where the government wants its official narrative to be the only information allowed to circulate, obviously. These tend to be either terrorism events or false flag events which are seized upon by the government to enact harsh new police state regulations and surveillance initiatives to spy on the American people. […] What all governments know is the importance of “getting out in front of the narrative” and telling the government’s story first, before anyone else can look at the facts and present a more rational explanation for what happened.
Then, to really freak us out, Adams refers us to the infamous hacker Guccifer (real name Marcel-Lehel Lazar), now serving a 7-year sentence for hacking at the high-security jail in Western Romania’s Transylvania region. As Guccifer, Lazar had hacked into the personal email accounts of many public figures and revealed that former President George W. Bush had taken up painting.

According to an account in the New York Times of Nov. 21, 2014, Lazar/Guccifer claims to have acquired emails that spoke of a plan to set off a nuclear bomb in Chicago and an unnamed city in Pennsylvania next year. Although his prison psychologist rolled his eyes at Lazar’s many “conspiracy theories,” the psychologist nevertheless said he had no doubt about the state of Lazar’s mental health: “He is not really crazy at all.”
