, the 2020 Canadian Country Music Association's Rising Star award-winner is making history in 2021 with her first career #1 hit, Somebody Like That!
The track, originally released in the fall of 2019 in the lead-up to her album, Love, Heartbreak, & Everything In Between, has grown and grown and grown over time. And now, as we enter the end of April and the beginning of May 2021, Tenille Arts has taken Somebody Like That all the way to #1 at country radio in the United States.
It's a fantastic feat for the Saskatchewan native. And it deserves to be celebrated by the country music community in Canada, and by Tenille and her team above all else.
It's also something that hasn't happened 1) lately and 2) ever when we get to the details attached.
Somebody Like That becomes the first #1 at U.S. country radio for a Canadian artists since Emerson Drive's Moments in 2007. That's a long time.
Somebody Like That has become the first song to go #1 at U.S. country radio that was performed, written, and produced by an all-woman team. That is long overdue, and something that we hope acts as motivation and inspiration and a wake-up call to everyone involved in the process.

In Canada, the Somebody Like That reached #9 on the country charts. And currently, her latest single, Give It To Me Straight has started to make a climb, jumping into the Top 30 on the most recent chart. We're looking forward to seeing how it does in the coming weeks.
Tenille Arts is a rising star, certainly. And now, the 2021 Academy of Country Music, New Female Artist of the Year nominee has made history - and we'd be willing to bet that she's not done yet!
