Today is the day...my summer styling is officially off to storage...but... not before I take a look back at my very favorite summer style moments.This year working with summer beach finds...made my heart the happiest...highlighting them in stone bowls... driftwood... and glass cloches...mixing them with white florals from the garden.
This year I narrowed my usual blue and white summer palette...to mainly whites and neutrals...wanting to highlight the richness of textures and tones.
My flowers remained white all season...Having tremendous luck with my 'wall of orchids'...other whites were worked in as occasions called for.
Much time this summer was spent redoing plantings and planters in the back yard...in attempt to simplify the plantings ...both from a care standpoint... (now that I am back working)...but even more so from an aesthetic view point...I wanted a calmer... more tranquil feel to the backyard...things are definitely shaping up nicely.
My favorite dinners in the summer are always alfresco...Market lights have been added throughout...making ambiant lighting as easy as a flip of a switch...and the lighting of candle collections.
It is with sweet summer memories that I have packed my boxes of summer styling ...until next year...For now it is definitely timefor the celebration of fall...
Let the fall styling begin...Off to storage I go!
