Seriously - what the hell is going on? I am going to be walking into labor and delivery and getting whoever the hell is on call to deliver my baby. Does anyone else find that weird?
I moved when I was 7 months pregnant and quickly realized that the one-two punch of being in my third trimester and being old was going to make it impossible for me to find a doctor. Receptionist after receptionist kept saying, "Oh. We don't take late transfers." Some volunteered to look at my medical records to determine if they would treat me. What exactly are you looking for on those records? I assure you - I'm pregnant. I assure you - this baby is going to have to come out. I assure you - I'm going to need help with that.
I found some great midwives who are giving me prenatal care but they can't come to the hospital to deliver me because Florida is weird. As it stands now, we will be walking into labor and delivery and crossing our fingers that we get an on-call doctor that isn't going to try to force me into surgery.
Wish me luck.
