Snog, Marry, Avoid.

By Ashleylister @ashleylister

Snog, marry, avoid is a game where you select often celebrities or subjects from your own friend circle to allocate in each category. I'm going to take a different approach. There is a popular TV show broadcasted by BBC3 called "Snog Marry Avoid" and features a character (a camera) who has 'fake' men (lots of straight men) and women come into her studio and dress down their ways of dressing to look more natural. Fake being lots of make-up and fake tan and skimpy clothing ect. Boys view their photographs before and after the 'make-under' and judge whether they would snog, marry or avoid them. It's an abysmal program but incredibly funny in most cases.
I have dedicated a poem to the fashion of 'fakery'.
Round and oddly craterous like the surface of the moon,Your face glows twice as bright, you strange adolescent baboon,
Spider must sit on your lids, and rest their legs above your eyes,
For using that much mascara surely isn’t wise.
Your lips thick and painted white resembling the bill of a duck,But you pose for pictures displaying a distinct lack of giving a f**k,
They say tall is sexy, and indeed you stumble with heels incredibly high,
We get that, surely, you dreamt as a child that you’d learn to fly.
A coat never features in your outfits, even in winter, it’s sadly true,But at least your foundation covers your unfashionable shade of blue.
You dress to impress and in the hopes of a kiss, thinking you’re the type they’d marry,But really dear, they run and avoid, thinking your names really Barry.
