Last week's task was to do something that is unique to where you live, with the purpose being to appreciate it :) Luckily, I love Tampa and I had a lot of fun doing this.
One of my favorite places in the Tampa area is an old historic district called Ybor City. I love the look and feel of the place. The architecture always catches my eye and it never gets old to look at. There is so much to do, and it is filled with all kinds of people (perfect for people watching!). Ybor is known for its nightlife, but I typically like to go during the day when it's more about the restaurants and walking around exploring. Adam & I saw The Hunger Games (which you can read how I felt about the movie here) in the theater that's in Ybor. I asked him if we could go early and walk around and take pictures of the place - he, of course, was on board with it (gotta love a man who appreciates his girl's blog right?! ;)) and snapped some pictures for me.
I took this one inside of a coffee shop. I was getting a coffee while Adam was outside snapping the first couple of pictures :)
He took this one from the upper balcony on 8th Avenue. There are 2 main street/strips in Ybor...7th Avenue & 8th Avenue.
I still haven't had the chance to ride the trolley! I really need to get on that.
This is my favorite sushi place - Samurai Blue..mmm so good! And I am obsessed with all of the brick that makes up Ybor.
This is 1603 - the place where I got my tattoo done and where Adam got his first tattoo done.
You can always find people playing music on the streets in hopes of making some cash. That guy is filming another guy playing guitar.
And this is the view of the theater from across the street.
