Smashbox Double Exposure Palette Review

By Hollysbeautybox @hollysbeautybox
Smashbox released the Full Exposure palette a while back and I really reeeeeally love it, so when I heard through the bloggosphere that a new palette from Smashbox was to be released called the "Double Exposure" palette, I was all but quivering in my seat (slightly dramatized!).
Smashbox Double Exposure Palette Review The palette is designed to be used both dry and wet meaning you actually get 28 shadows instead of the fourteen! I'm all for a bit of a beauty bargain.
This was inspired by a photographic technique called 'Multiple Exposure' which is where the camera shutter opens more than once to expose the film several times during a shot.  Basically, it was clever marketing and it has pretty packaging too and you all know how much I loves the pretty packagings of any products (I also love adding an "s" to most things it seems, soz).
The shadows all gain a deeper pigment, get more vibrant, more shimmery or turn metallic when used with water. I was a little bit skeptical about adding water to the shadows because I always find there's a film over the top of normal shadows once I have done this but I was happily surprised to see that there was no film or glaze on these once used with water which I was impressed with. It was a little bit like applying poster paint to my eyes but actually, there was no creasing and it blended in beautifully so I have no complaints about the wet version of these.
In terms of using them dry, I love the matte shades most but that's just a personal preference. I find they are a tad powdery when using them dry but nothing I would moan about (I know, I can tell you're shocked that there's nothing for me to moan about haha)
The brush is good, and the packaging looks great (it's black with a rose gold paint splatter on the front which then has the logo emblazoned across it).
My favorite look right now is using "flushed" (the far right color on the top row) all over, with a tiny bit of "Fig" (second last on the bottom row) blended into the crease and a slick of navy blue eyeliner (You could probably use "Midnight" wet to create an eyeliner but I prefer to use the Collection blue eyeliner pen for this, it's so long lasting!)
Anyways, I hope you liked this review of the Smashbox Double Exposure Palette! Let me know in the comments below what you think of the palette and if you want to suggest any more reviews etc :)
