Small Black’s New Single Smells of Summer [video]

The best thing about Small Black is their seemingly effortless ability to blend primarily electronic sounds with raw, acoustic elements, creating something that manages to sound fresh, organic, and full of fun. Luckily, not much has changed with their new single “No Stranger”. One of the first glimpses of music from their new album, Limits of Desire, due out on May 14th, “No Stranger” is a chilled-out track loaded with synths and shakers. Gorgeous, delayed guitars create an ethereal ambiance that’s paired perfectly with a grooving analog-sounding bass line and various fuzzy and shimmering synth tracks.

As all of these sounds build and meld, Small Black creates a wall of sheer sound that reverberates with summer fun. Try this song on full volume with the windows rolled down, giving the smooth, catchy vocals room to swell and seep out of your car and into the sunlight. The ever building, yet always chill tone of “No Stranger” makes it an endearingly infectious song that was released at just the right time.
