Swedish quartet Slim Loris are offering more of the same on their new When Life Interferes released EP: carefully crafted melodic pop songs with a sad undertone that sound cheerful nevertheless. They are looking for the bright side, even in the midst of winter (Flowers) and are sure that anohter outlook on life is a recipe for feeling better (Changed).
When Life Interferes serves as both a reality check and an invitation to keep the faith that will things will get better. This subtle clash of conflicting emotions is captured best in the final track Childish Mind, a powerpop anthem that is as close as they are going to get to write a rock song.
