Microsoft once demonstrated their real-time live translation for a speech to thousands of guests. It has finally landed to Skype. Microsoft has now made every Skype users to speak in seven different languages seamlessly.
Skype's new feature will translate speech in real time as it is spoken to seven different languages. This is a very big step for Microsoft/Skype to break the language barrier when it comes to communication around the world. From friends to colleagues in a different countries, from exchange students to building business relationships; Skype's real time translator would be a game changer in terms to video calling. To begin with, the voice-to-voice translation is now supporting seven languages: Chinese Mandarin(Simplified & Traditional), English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. Using the new feature is very easy now, all you need to do is click the globe icon on the top right corner of the chat window and change the language settings as you want.
Last year Skype partnered with Microsoft to use the Microsoft Translator through which they introduced a standalone Skype translator to test it out with only 2 languages at that time. The most used language pair was French to English and the top international Skype Translator calling corridor is Germany to Ghana.
If you Windows App doesn't does the globe icon to begin using the new real-time translator, you can update it or download the latest version of Skype. It not only will enable you to use the new feature but also help with text-to-text translations in over 50 languages.
