Brooklyn’s Skyes seem to have mastered the art of synth pop dynamics, crafting upbeat tracks that never sacrifice depth to the gods of danceable beats. This skill is clearly apparent on their newest release, “Lullaby”. The combination of slightly syncopated rhythms and sugary vocals creates an impression of hope melted with uncertainty — there’s an element of the unknown that feels exciting. This all leads to the triumphant chorus, building in additional instrumental pieces and harmonies to create a whole that’s larger than the sum of its parts. This track and more will be on the band’s soon-to-be-released EP out sometime this Spring. Be sure to listen to the track above and catch the band at Communion Club Night in Philly tomorrow and The Knitting Factory in NYC on 3/13!
