Skeleton Frames Keep the Noise Coming in ‘Quicksand’ [Stream]

With a mix of sparkling vocals and heavy as tar guitars, Skeleton Frames’ new single immediately caught our attention. The British band is continuing the thread of incredible rock coming out of the UK, and they’ve added a healthy dose of shoegaze sludge to the mix. “Quicksand” ebbs and flows with moments of quiet that underline the terrific onslaught of noise that comes moments later. The noise doesn’t change the fact that the core of the track is a solid melody, one that effortlessly creates a cohesive and listenable whole. “Quicksand” is the first song off the band’s self-titled EP, and if it’s anything like this, we’re in for an amazing release.
