We don’t know very much about Western Lows — a band out of LA whose first LP is out now. What we do know, however, is that their track “Grapevine” absolutely needs more attention. It’s mellow beauty holds throughout the entire track, with meandering guitar and distant percussion placing heavy emphasis on the lovely vocals. Granted, when that little bit of droning electric guitar kicks in towards the end, it makes the emotional punch all the more potent. The mix of Americana leanings with Shoegaze production isn’t necessarily new, but it’s rarely done as effortlessly as it is here. Take a listen to the track, and we’re sure that you’ll be as hungry to hear more from Western Lows as we are.
