Single Mums Confession: Diane in the spotlight

I became a single mum at the age of eighteen , I never imaginer this at all was going to happen. I was in a perfect relationship and although Grace wasn’t planned we agreed we’d be a family, this was all I wanted its amazing how quick things change.

Once I had Grace I started to feel guilty that her dad hadn’t seen her, after six weeks of Grace being in the world I ended our relationship after being told he was coming to see us. This went on for 6 months then I decided to turn up at his.

The best thing about being a single mum is having Grace to myself and not having anyone to answer to. The worst thing is being lonely when Grace in bed. I’ve been lucky and had support from the start from family and friends. In the future I hope to trust someone to introduce to Grace and have a family, I wouldn’t get back with Graces dad as he had his chance.

When Grace asks and is old enough to understand why me and her dad aren’t together she will know the truth.

A sincere thank you to Diane for sharing her single mum experience with us today on the blog. Please take the time to leave a comment.
