Snopes says they don’t know whether the faux ad was actually published in Atlanta Constitutional-Journal or another newspaper, but that the gag is several years old and that there are several versions of the ad floating around on the net.
The Atlanta Humane Society said they’ve received calls from men responding to the fake ad, and that whoever started this gag should know that’s a rotten way to get people to adopt homeless dogs because it’s deceptive.
