Siesta Key Travel Guide

If you're looking for the best beach vacation, I only have one recommendation: Siesta Key, Florida. Over the past couple of years, my family has spent some time on the little island connected to Sarasota by two simple drawbridges. About an hour south of Tampa International (and just 15 minutes from the tiny Sarasota airport), Siesta Key is regularly voted as the number one beach in the United States!
I love Siesta Key because, unlike some other beaches I've visited, it isn't remote or isolated. If you get a little sun sick or bored of lying out, there is a fun little village full of shops and restaurants, places to rent kayaks and bikes, and lots of cute places to grab a drink. If you need more to do, the charming Downtown Sarasota is a short drive and filled with museums, shopping, and a waterfront marina.
