As you may imagine, sizing people for shoes from a distance is one of the biggest challenges for an online shoe retailer.
1. Printable Sizing Guides
You can now download and print stand-on sizing guides for all ages! We believe this will make sizing yourself at home MUCH easier and more accurate. Previously, our printable guides were only offered for child sizes. We are now proud to offer this option for youth and adults as well. You simply need to print and stand on these pages to find your best size at a glance!
2. New Measuring Method
No printer? We have another solution! In the past, we asked people to measure tracings of their feet. While this can work well if it is done correctly, it involved a lot of rules that leave room for error (holding the pen at the wrong angle, tracing your own feet, measuring the wrong angle, etc.). After extensive testing, we now recommend a much more accurate method: place your foot against a wall, use a book to mark your longest toe and measuring that distance. This actually gives a different measurement than foot tracings—which tend to be larger—and is much more consistent. The measurement charts on our sizing page have been updated to reflect this wall-measuring method.
3. New Sizing Videos
Need more sizing help? We just released two snazzy new videos to help you find the best fit! These videos give visual guides for using our printable guides and measuring methods, as well as other sizing tips regarding width and thick socks. One video, hosted by Soft Star Co-Owner Larkin, focuses on sizing children and covers the various nuances to consider when buying shoes for your little ones. The other video, hosted by Elf Martin, shows how to size youth and adult feet. Check them out below!
