The outside of the Nest "a cabin in the woods" is just as charming as the inside. There is a fire pit out back, wooden swing in the front, babbling brook running through the yard and down the road complete with frogs and fish. There's a tire swing that suspends over the creek, and my favorite part, the hanging bed on the front porch. Every once in a while, a lone deer would run through the backyard or graze in the field next to the house. My dad loved waking up and going for a morning stroll next to the creek and I loved sitting on the porch each night, watching the fireflies.
Shelter + Roost provided the most pleasant home away from home that I have ever experienced. The Nest property is quaint, cozy, and really a dream to stay in. While I haven't seen the other Shelter + Roost properties, I know that they are just as wonderful. If you're traveling through or to Tennessee, definitely make the trip out to Leipers Fork to experience Shelter + Roost for yourself.
