Verdict on Shazam! Fury of the Gods

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is the latest superhero movie from the DCU. It brings back the popular hero Shazam and puts him up against different threats in a God figures. He must understand what his powers are to move forward with his life and save the world.

This is a safe addition to the superhero world, it tackles the human factors Billy is going through. However, the supporting family members end up feeling a lot more interesting. The villains are different to what we are used to seeing, again, bringing something fresh with what they want. It is hard to get truly invested in the stories at the moment due to the fact they are rebranding the DCU.

When it comes to the performance Zachary Levi struggles to land the jokes. While Meagan Good steals the show in the Super Hero family. Elsewhere, Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu have a lot of fun with their roles in the movie.

When it comes to the effects, we get solid get some great ones and some that seem to be a bit more ambitious than we are able to see. It is also nice to see an Annabelle cameo too.

Final ThoughtsShazam! Fury of the Gods is a solid addition to the DCU collection, that tries too hard to be funny.
