{#ShareAdvent - "There's No Place Like Home"}

By Glasgow_mummy @glasgow_mummy
It was two years ago, to this very day, that I answered my mobile to a life-changing phone call. My suspicions were confirmed, and I was told that my husband was having an affair.
2013 started off positively after a very rocky 2012, and I was sure that by the end of this year my divorce would be settled, I'd be more financially secure and be on the road to happiness.
Unfortunately the divorce is still not finalised, we don't even have a draft minute of agreement as yet. It's taking much longer than I had anticipated. Not that I'm in any major rush, I just want to draw a line and move on.
There have been a number of steps however in the right direction, and my house move is one of them. Which fits in perfectly with today's #ShareAdvent prompt 'There's no place like home'.
I'm so much happier in my new house. It's a much better size for me and the kids. I can manage the housework myself, the garden is a perfect size and the bills are hopefully going to be considerably reduced.
I also got a new (to me) car this week. I've downsized, again for financial reasons, and I've got an ideal family saloon that's still under warranty and it's much cheaper for insurance/road tax etc.
The kids are with their dad this Christmas, and I've just waved them off. I'm getting them back on Boxing Day morning. I think I will pop over to their dad's house on Christmas Day to see them open some of their presents, and I'm hoping it won't confuse them by me being there.
Anyway, I'm about to light all my candles and settle down with a cup of tea, some chocolates and watch a festive movie. There definitely is no place like home :-)
