Ingredients:
Tomatoes (Chopped in chunks) : 3-4 medium or 1 cup
Sev : 1 cupCumin seeds : 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds : 1/4 tsp
Red chili powder : 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder : a pinch
Curry leaves : 4-5
Sugar : 1/2 tsp
Tomato ketchup : 1 tsp
Salt : to taste
Oil : 1 tbsp
Method :
1. Wash tomatoes and chop them into medium chunks.
2. Heat oil in a kadhai, add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and allow them to cracle.3. Add curry leaves, turmeric powder, red chili powder and tomatoes. Saute until the ingredients are well combined.
4. Cook tomatoes on low flame till they are tender and soft.
5. Add sugar and salt.
6. Add water if it gets too thick. We want a medium thick gravy.Cook it for another half minute.
7. When you are ready to serve add sev and mix it well with the tomato gravy.
8. Garnish it with sev and serve hot.
Handy Notes :
# Instead of sugar, you can add jaggery.
# You can adjust sugar according to your taste. If you like it more sweet, add more sugar.
# I have made this no onion - no garlic, you can add onions if you want.
