Setting Goals Month by Month: January 2013
We have a new year ahead of us and I decided to set some goals month by month.
As you may already know I have been training as a Montessori teacher since Oct 2011. While it has been a tremendous experience for me, it has not been easy. At times I have felt very guilty. I was too tired or too busy to do some of the jobs that needed to be done around the house.
We do a lot of activities with children at home, but so many times I had a plan or an idea and they just did not happen.
My training is slowly coming to an end and during the Christmas holiday I have been organizing the house. I have been thinking about how I can help my children consolidate their learning. Inspired by MaryAnne of Mama Smiles,I have decided to set up monthly goals for ourselves.
  • Declutter the house and donate, recycle or upcycle.
  • Both Defne and Derin's birthdays are in January. So we will enjoy celebrating their special days with our own rituals and a big party for Defne.
  • I would like to do more art activities with the children. We will be exploring one artist each month. For January I have chosen Van Gogh. Derin has never been much into art and crafts, but he is slowly getting there. He has been showing interest in  painting  recently and I want to support him.
  • Enjoy living in the moment and teach children more about gratitude.
  • Doing more Montessori activities with the children.
Some of my blogging buddies are also sharing their goals and we will be doing so each month.
Do you set goals for yourself? I would love to hear about them.
