Pittsburgh ended its 2013 campaign with three straight wins, including a 20-7 victory over the Cleveland Browns in the season finale at Heinz Field. With the win, the Steelers recorded at least eight victories for the 10th straight regular season.
On the Steelers’ first drive, QB Ben Roethlisberger and WR Jerricho Cotchery connected on two straight plays. First, Roethlisberger and Cotchery converted a third-and-10 with a 12-yard pass, and on the very next play, Roethlisberger threw a nine-yard touchdown pass to Cotchery. It marked Cotchery’s team-leading 10th receiving touchdown of the season.
Late in the second quarter, RB Le’Veon Bell scored on a five-yard run to give the Steelers a 14-0 advantage. Bell finished the game with 96 yards from scrimmage to give him 1,259 on the season, passing Franco Harris (1,235) for the most yards from scrimmage by a rookie in a single-season in team history.
K Shaun Suisham made a 30-yard field goal in the third quarter and a 32-yarder in the fourth quarter to give Pittsburgh a 20-0 lead. Suisham finished the season 30-of-32 on field goals, which are the third-most made field goals in a single-season in franchise history. His FG percentage of 93.8 was a franchise best (min. 15 att.) in the regular season.
Cleveland RB Fozzy Whittaker scored on a 35-yard touchdown pass from QB Jason Campbell late in the contest to prevent the Pittsburgh shutout.
WR Antonio Brown finished with game-highs in receptions (9) and receiving yards (87). Brown became the first player in NFL history to record at least five receptions and 50 receiving yards in all 16 regular-season contests.
