Seoul Release New Song and Announce First Album [stream]

I first became aware of Seoul in September 2013. At the time, they had a very elusive internet presence, with only one single available to stream. Watching their career unfold over the past year and a half has felt something like pursuing that mysterious stranger you spot from a cross the room at a crowded party. They’ve only released a handful of additional songs since then, but each one is packed with flirtatiously enigmatic elements of the shoegaze/electronic hybrid breed, simultaneously arousing and tranquilizing. Upon releasing their newest single, “The Line”, the Montreal four piece also announced the release of their debut LP, out June 9th, and their first full North American tour. If you’re headed down to SXSW, you’ll have a few chances to catch them, but if not, you can see them tonight at Baby’s All Right with another Canadian darling, Calvin Love.
