Colombo High Court Judge Amal Ranaraja recently sentenced a person who committed serious sexual abuse on a minor boy to 27 years imprisonment with hard labor.
Stating that the case filed by the Attorney General under three counts has been proven beyond reasonable doubt, the High Court judge who passed the judgment ordered a fine of Rs.75,000 and compensation of Rs.150,000 to be paid to the aggrieved child. He also ordered that if the compensation is not paid and additional two year sentence should be imposed.
