Seasonal Tastes Offers You All the Reasons for Spending a Special Sunday!

By Travelrasoi @travelrasoi

I was in a dilemma where to celebrate my anniversary this year. Because it comes once in a year, I always try to make my anniversary a little special for my family that also gives us sweet memories to muse about the entire year. While I was wondering of how to celebrate it this time, I chanced upon the Seasonal Tastes Review opportunity at The Westin, Gurgaon that invites guests for a Sunday Brunch. I decided to take my family there and enjoy the brunch while also celebrating my anniversary at the same time.

Going there was a wonderful experience. While the children kept themselves amused playing with the costumed characters (Mickey and Minnie Mouse) around the restaurant, I sat in a corner admiring the beautiful ambience of the interiors. Pooja, who had been a wonderful host, was present there for us the entire time. I actually felt glad to see the way she cared for the kids and took great care of all of us.

There were seven live cooking stations and an attractive looking open kitchen. The wide selection of buffet for breakfast and lunch included marvelous blends of Salads, North Indian food, Asian food, South Indian food, starters and International dishes & salads. The dessert section, as told by Chef De cuisine, Amardeep Singh Bhatia had 10 varieties of desserts, including the Indian halwai section.

“We have a wonderful collection of menu starting with breads, cheese, salads and have a wide variety in both veg and non-veg. While in one corner we have a sea food section, on the other you will find a dedicated counter for Indian cuisine starting with Indian curries and tandoor. We have the European live pasta counter where the guest can personally interact with the chef to get their favorite pasta made with the sauce and bread of their choice. We also have the Asian counter that includes Peking Duck, dim sums, Thai curry and so on and the Noodle station with the Chicken bowl, fish bowl varieties. We have in total 7 counters – salads, Indian, Asian, international, European, local Delhi and dessert. So this is an add-on service only for Sundays to what we generally offer on other days for our customers,” explained Chef Amardeep.

The chef also talked about the DIY section of meats and veggies which the chef can cook for the guests on special requests.

We started with Indian snacks – Paneer tikka, Roasted chicken, chicken Tikki, and the mocktail prepared by Karan by combining different herbs, Pineapple rose soda and Blue lagoon. The mocktail tasted really good and the flavor of the herbs and rose further added to its strength.

For the main course, the kids had South Indian – Ayyapam and Uttapam. We tasted an assortment of food – Pasta, my favorite Makki ki roti and sarso da saag, Dal makhani, Yellow dal, Mushroom, Aloo palak and Shahi paneer along with Missi roti and Corn Pulao.

Main Course

I found the variety in the North Indian menu really remarkable, but the taste of the seasonal makki ki roti and sarso ka saag was the finest.

Dessert too had a vast collection but I individually loved red velvet pastry, chocolate mousse and rasmalai. The farm green section also was excellent.

A pre-planned Sunday brunch at Seasonal Tastes could be just a wonderful way to spend a day out with your family. It is not just for the vast selection of Buffet, but children would also find it an idle place for engaging in different activities. So the next time you find difficulty in deciding on a place, you can certainly keep Seasonal tastes, The Westin Gurgaon in mind.
