Originally hailing from the small English town of Bridlington, Seafret is a mostly acoustic duo whose haunting beauty lies amongst their ability to perfectly intertwine their respective talents, most notably on their latest single, “Give Me Something”. Harry Draper’s inviting opening guitar lick makes way for the fervid vocals of Jack Sedman, and they glide through a melancholy wave of echoes for a short but driving two and a half minutes. The song is a sonically resplendent and lyrically metaphoric search for an answer to a love lost. Its the arrangement of this specific track that gives the power to tug and release heart strings. Lingering, acoustically-driven verses swell, like the ocean waves brought to mind by the bands name, into an elevated, powerful bridge, eventually receding into fading whispers of Draper’s guitar. “Give Me Something” is the title track from Seafret’s debut Give Me Something EP, set for release on September 21st via Sweet Jane Recordings.
