'Sea Monster' Found Washed Ashore On New Zealand Beach
Mystery surrounds the discovery of a 'sea monster' which has washed ashore in New Zealand. With rows of jagged teeth and a gaping jaw, the beast's 30-foot-long mutilated carcass was found half-buried in sand on a popular stretch of coast. It has sparked a frantic guessing game as locals on Pukehina Beach try to fathom what the creature from the deep is.
Theories range from a killer whale to saltwater crocodile, giant moray eel, some sort of dolphin, or something more prehistoric. Marine experts dismissed claims it was some sort of dinosaur, saying the animal's fin structure suggested it was a killer whale, which are common in the Bay of Plenty.
