Scout Cosmetics Mineral Powder Foundation – Review

By Triedandtestedblogger @triedtestedblog

Hi everyone,

Today, I’m excited to introduce you all to the Scout Cosmetics’ Mineral Powder Foundation which I’ve been trialling for the past few weeks.

‘Every SCOUT product must have three attributes:

  • It must be made in Australia from only the highly quality certified organic and natural ingredients;
  • It must be formulated by experts and manufactured to exacting Australian and international standards; and
  • Most of all, it must be effective in looking after your skin, enhancing your natural beauty and be a delight to use.’

Scout Cosmetics Mineral Powder Foundation

The Scout Cosmetics’ Mineral Powder Foundation is a loose foundation made from the purest Australian minerals containing natural sunscreens and no added fillers, bismuth oxychloride, talcum powder or clay. Available in 10 shades, the foundation is a great lightweight option for those who prefer a lighter coverage or little makeup on a daily basis. The formula is finely milled and glides onto the skin effortlessly. There is a hint of shimmer in the powder but this is unnoticeable when applied as it instead helps the foundation give a natural glow and finish to the face.

With a lightweight feel and look on the skin, the Mineral Powder Foundation gives a great barely there to light coverage (depending on how much you apply) when buffed into the skin. One of the highlights of this product is the ability to be able to choose the amount of coverage you’d like on any given day and the result will never look dry or powdery on the skin. The foundation lasted well throughout the day and didn’t cause any cakiness in its wear as the day progressed and only needed a slight touch up. It was also able to hold a bit of shine at bay around my nose and t-zone area.

Not only is this product a foundation but it can also be used as a concealer or finishing powder on top of a foundation or concealer for extra coverage.  As someone who doesn’t wear a base everyday, I found that the Scout Cosmetics’ Mineral Powder Foundation was a great option because it provided coverage whilst looking completely natural as well. Applied on top of a foundation, it provided some extra coverage as well as setting the concealer into place. When applied with the super soft Scout Cosmetics vegan Kabuki brush, the process was quick and easy and the foundation had a nice natural finish.

This was also my first experience using a mineral foundation as well as using a powder foundation so I was very excited to try this product and it didn’t let me down! The finish was really soft and natural and coverage lasted well throughout the day and I found the kabuki brush to be the best method of applying this foundation. I definitely think that this foundation is a great choice for those looking for light coverage and this product delivers on the Scout Cosmetics attribute of enhancing natural beauty.

The Scout Cosmetics Mineral Powder Foundation is available for $59.95 from the Scout Cosmetics website while the Vegan Kabuki Brush is also available for $59.95 from Scout Cosmetics.
