* Saying Goodbye to Cancun...

By Keepingupwithsonnek @aJOschlomka
SAD.... it's time to wrap up our Cancun vacation. I am sure you are all just about done hearing all about it- but I sure have had fun reliving it here on the blog! This is, after all, the EXACT reason I blog- to remember every last detail of these super fun times!
* Saying Goodbye to Cancun...
It was Monday now and talk about a #CaseOfTheMondays! Aaron and I woke up to a BEAUTIFUL day outside and by beautiful I am talking about the best day YET!!! DANG! Isn't that how it always goes though...
We spent the early morning cleaning up our room by cleaning out the bathroom, closet, safe and dresser drawers. It was everything BACK into our suitcases so that we could enjoy a morning on the beach before or Noon checkout.
 * Saying Goodbye to Cancun...
Once all packed, we headed down for breakfast and enjoyed our favs; mimosas, ham/cheese/pico omelets, french toast and sausage. YUM! Following breakfast we wanted to enjoy the sun so we walked down to the beach for a few photos. It's always fun trying to recruit a random to take a photo of you and your SO by the water! After a while and some intentional struggling/awkward "self photos" a lady was kind enough to take a couple of pictures for us. I promptly returned the favor to a couple down the beach doing the EXACT same "struggle-of-let's-try-taking-our-picture-together-with-water-in-the-background" dance. I smiled taking these pictures knowing that this was probably one of their first days here in Cancun and they had a beautiful day ahead of them!
* Saying Goodbye to Cancun...
After the beach we decided to head to the lobby to quick say goodbye to Pat & Miranda. They were an hour ahead of our departure. It was now the dreaded moment of having to go back to our room 2201 for the last time, grab our bags and check out. We decided to visit the 6th floor VIP one last time. Here we mixed a couple of cocktails, grabbed a snack and even found out that we could check out. This was awesome because there was ZERO wait and they brought all of our bags down to the lobby for us.
 * Saying Goodbye to Cancun...
Once down in the lobby we waited for our taxi back to the airport. We were set to leave for the airport at 12:40pm and our flight was on time for take off at 3:31pm.
* Saying Goodbye to Cancun...
After we safely arrived and checked in at Cancun International, I quickly searched for my last vacation must have- my mini snowglobe! I try to grab one of these guys each time I am on vacation; but oddly enough I have YET to get a Cabo one!
* Saying Goodbye to Cancun...
We then found food, PIZZA, a large PIZZA & it was so good! But naturally, I was nervous to get on the plane and in the air so I only had 2 small slices. Right before we boarded I did a bathroom wardrobe change into some pants and a light sweatshirt. I had to be SOMEWHAT prepared for the -10 degrees that we were going back to in MN... yuck!
After a smooth flight- where I slept, listened to music, finished my book and played solitaire- we were landed safe and sound at 7:25pm. Towards the end of our flight Aaron and I were flipping through photos of Avrie on his phone- just smiling. Even though it would be late and she would be tired- we were SO EXCITED to see her!!
We missed her SO much! I found myself just SO anxious to see her sweet little face! I do have to add that even though we missed her a TON [like A LOT] it didn't get in the way of our vacation. Mom & Paul picked us up curbside with little girl in tow around 8:10pm. She was SUPER excited and couldn't stop checking to make sure it was really us that joined her, grandma and grandpa in the car!
