Say What?! – Japanese Scientists Claims They Can See Your Dreams

Posted on the 09 April 2013 by Nrjperera @nrjperera

sleepingDreaming is the only way we can do all kinds of stuff, without having to worry about privacy or going to jail. Now it seems like we are about to lose our right to dream free because some scientists in Japan claims they have found a way to see our dreams.

Yukiyasu Kamitani and his fellow researchers at ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratories in Kyoto, Japan have come up with an algorithm that can detect what we dream and project images related to the dream. For example, every time you’re dreaming about a car, you brain behaves the same way, so this algorithm will show a related image to what you see in the dream, allowing these scientists to predict what you are seeing.

This may seem like a breakthrough, but it’s actually not. A lot of well-known scientist says that this is impossible at the moment. The Discover Magazine calls this the ‘worst science article of the week’. According to them this is just a BS story that some researchers made up to gain few seconds of fame.

I’m no science geek, so I have no idea if this is legit or not. But, it would definitely be weird to let someone else see my dream because I know what kind of dreams I see. I don’t want anyone else to see them. Hell, no.

What do you think about this?
