Over three years ago, when I was just getting The Wild Honey Pie going, I bought two Flip cameras and started filming with bands that I loved. One of those bands was Brooklyn-based band Savoir Adore, who were kind enough to let me film them in the parking lot of a church down in Austin, Texas during SXSW. Fast-forward to about a month ago when Paul and Deidre appraoched me about recording a new Buzzsession at their studio in Williamsburg, to which I replied, “hell yeah!” We filled the room with fog, put some pretty amazing color-changing lights to work, and got to filming two tracks off their brand new LP, Dreamers. ‘Buzzsessions’ is a live session series made by The Wild Honey Pie. With each new episode, we travel with a different band to a different part of New York City and record sometimes-intimate/sometimes-wild versions of two or three songs.
