Satsuma Mandarin jam recipe

The homemade jams are always a good way to use the fruit when it is in season, that’s why now is the perfect time to pick mandarins and oranges and make our own homemade jams for the whole year, with which we can make many kinds of desserts and ice creams in summer. Here’s our recipe:

In my case I always use 1 kilogram of peeled and chopped orange per 700 grams of sugar, but you can make the amount you want with the same proportion of fruit and sugar. Mix all in a saucepan over medium heat until boiling then set to simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.

When the jam is ready pack it immediately in glass jars previously cleaned and disinfected. Close the jars and put them upside down, so will close hermetically to be preserved for longer.

Finally, we only need to write the fruit and the date of packaging on the jar. And we already have an excellent jam either enjoy or give away!
