Santorini was a place I always wanted to visit. Having read about it and seen countless pictures on Instagram, it became my dream.
I talked about it to my partner all the time.
I kept saying; One day, one day I'll take you there.
Well, I didn't.
Things took a little bit different turn.
Last month was my birthday. I started to celebrate on Saturday, one day before my original birthday.
That Saturday in the afternoon the doorbell rang and when I opened the door, Keany my friend was standing there.
''Hello'' she said.
It took me a while to invite her inside. I was so surprised, total shock :-)
My partner and Keany planned this visit without me knowing.
At night we all went for a nice dinner and Keany came with our friend Petra, another surprise.
We had a wonderful time and dance till 3 in the morning with some of our friends who showed up after midnight.
After that, I went home, had 3 hours of sleep and started packing my clothes on holiday.
My partner was taking me away.
I had no idea where.
He managed to bring me through the checking at the airport without finding out.
Once we passed all the controls and got to the line to get on the plane he said: ''Are you ready to look on the screen?''
And there was written:

When my partner surprised me with a trip for my birthday, it was a dream come true. ✈⛵
Santorini is one of the most spectacular places in the world. To me, it's without a doubt, one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Full of typical white Greek buildings which you can see from a distance and of course breathtaking views. People are very friendly, the food is yummy and the surrounding is wonderful. I loved it every second being in there.
It is said Santorini has the best sunsets in the world and they are best viewed from Oia.
Oia is paradise, it looks like you've stepped into a screensaver. All those countless pictures I've seen, it's exactly stunning like that.
Thira, the main town is also very beautiful, such a cute place. Very busy with lots of tiny pedestrian streets, shops to buy jewelry and souvenirs, colorful restaurants, etc. If you are thinking about visiting Santorini, I'll say go for it, Santorini is a must-see!
We had a wonderful time.
Santorini was a dream come true, a wonderful present from my boys.
