Have you observed that most people have selective listening (or reading!)? You would say a million things and they would only listen one sentence out of the whole conversation and then hang on to it for the rest of their lives. It is not about perceptions and interpretations. It is about convenience. If something challenges their current thoughts, opinions and actions they conveniently choose to ignore it. And only accept the part which is easy, popular and convenient. How can then these people ever be thought-leaders, when their thoughts come from popular culture?
