Samsung Unveils World’s First Tizen OS Smartphone

Today, Samsung announced Samsung Z, the company’s latest and the first smartphone to run on Tizen OS. According to Samsung, this new operating system brings faster startup time and immediate multi-tasking capabilities, along with 2D and 3D graphics, improved rendering performance for web browsing and even support for Samsung’s fingerprint sensor technology.

Does this mean Samsung drifting away from Android or trying to rival Android? Of course not. However, sporting 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display, a 2.3 GHz Quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 8-MP camera, the Samsung Z will certainly give a head start for the Tizen OS.

Samsung will debut the device at its Tizen Developer Conference in San Francisco on June 3rd, before launching the Samsung Z in Russia in Q3 2014.
