A quirky physic-based puzzle game with a unique art style.
You may ask why I'm reviewing a game thats been on the market for a few years. I'm reviewing it so late because I feel like World of goo is a great game but it's unfortunately under-appreciated so I thought I'd just "remind" everyone of this great game.
Adding a new section to the structure.
In World of Goo, you control hundreds of creatures made of goo that can join together to create massive structures. You have to morph them together in order to reach a tunnel that signifies the end of the level. To add an extra challenge to the game, you also have to finish the level with a certain amount of non-morphed goo balls left.
The controls are fairly simple, yet intuitive. All you have to do is touch and drag the goo balls wherever you want, as long as its within the predetermined distance to another gooball, let go and it will add another section to the structure.
There really isn't a story to World of Goo. The only backstory given is that the Gooballs like exploring all the sewer systems, and that's why they're always seeking out the tunnels.
One of my favorite things about World of Goo is it's unique art style. The entire game has hand-drawn background with a colorful and cheerful foreground.
Final Thoughts:
World of Goo is a great puzzler with a unique art style, a lot of levels , and intriguing gameplay. The only thing I found questionable about the game was it was sometimes so challenging it became infuriating and not fun, but it was very infrequent. S&S Rating: 8.5/10
