STORY       The story of The Last Ace of Space isn't very intricate or interesting but it is pretty hilarious. Ace the space cat and his friend Rocket Pig crash land on a hostile alien planet. They need to escape the planet's many horrific yet humorous aliens, including a slow but very dangerous slime monster.
GAMEPLAY
S&S; Mobile Review: The Last Ace of Space       The gameplay of Last Ace of Space is similar to most games in the runner-genre, but it has a few small original mechanics. You have to navigate Ace and Rocket-Pig, around the the planet while also avoiding numerous aliens. There are 6 different species of aliens you have to avoid. Each species requires a different gesture to effectively dodge them, whether it be flicking them off the map, sliding underneath them, shooting them, or just plain jumping over them. 5 of the species frequently occur during the game but there is only one slime monster, slowly following behind you. Every time your slowed by an obstacle the monster gets closer. The monsters distance from you is measured by a line on the top of the screen. When the monster gets too close to you to have to tap the screen rapidly to avoid being eaten.       S&S; Mobile Review: The Last Ace of Space       In the beginning of the level the map scrolls very slowly and enemies are infrequent, but it picks up very fast. I found myself becoming immensely challenged two or so minutes into the game, when your obstacles are practically whipping past the screen. My favorite feature of the gameplay is Rocket-Pig's special power. If he eats three beans of the beans spaces out through the level he emits a glorious fart that propels the duo through the sky and further from the slime monster. The soundtrack of the game only consists of one looped song, but at least it's a genre that isn't well represented in games. Its a generic surf-rock song that goes very well with the comedic feeling of the game. Throw in OpenFeint and GameCenter support for achievements and you a have solid and rewarding gameplay.CONTROLS      The controls for The Last Ace of Space are significantly more complex than most other games in the runner genre. There's a host of on-screen buttons and touch screen motions available to use. To jump you tap a button in the left and right corner of the screen and to slide you drag your finger along the bottom of the screen. In order to shoot or pop balloons, you just tap to aim/shoot. Tapping on Rocket-Pig initiates the rocket of flatulence.FINAL THOUGHTS      The Last Ace of Space is a challenging and funny runner game with a great soundtrack that's well worth the ninety-nine cents.                                                                                                               S&S Rating: 9.0/10
