The guys at Freelance Games have been getting a lot of attention from me lately, and I have been having a good time with all of their games. The Trailer Park King games is the latest series I've been sinking my teeth into, so to speak. Presentation, Story and Core Gameplay:
Just like in the game Cherry Poke Prison, which I reviewed earlier in the week, Trailer Park King really has the same unique art style, if that makes any sense. Once again the women's boobs take center stage, with pretty impressively detailed still images. One funny thing regarding the still images, is that they still manage to make crude gestures, with non animated women. Each episode has the exact same art style, other than a few minor changes to the game world. Minor changes meaning more women images. The music in each episode is basically the same as well, subtlety is never a bad thing in my mind, and this game proves that. The voice acting is just as amusing as ever, with some rather bad attempts at an authentic southern accent. You can just tell that the voice talent isn't from any rural area down south, but that makes it even more funnier. The story is pretty ludicrous throughout, but I've come to expect that from the guys at Freelance. At the end of episode 1, it ends on a pretty mind scratching cliffhanger, and I was glad I could continue on to episode 2. The story in the second episode is even crazier than the first, if you can believe that. From how the narrative ended, you can easily expect a third episode from the Trailer Park. Aside from pointing and clicking random objects to progress the game and completing fetch quests from bosomy women, there isn't much else to the game. There is a couple new elements in the game, well maybe just distractions. One of the cool little diversions involve playing a shooting range, as you try to shoot beer bottles off of women's heads. Its neat in its own right, offering a bit diversity when its needed most.
Final Thoughts:I'm a new fan to these kind of games, and I'm glad I stumbled upon these set of games. The eye-treating presentation mixed in with a funny story is always mixture in my eyes. Although the gameplay is simple, it gets the job done.
