Salted Black Porter – Field House Brewing

By Mike @mikescraftbeer

From Field House Brewing in Abbotsford comes their "Salted Black Porter". The beer pours a deep brown colour with a tan head. The aroma consists of roasty malts, hint of salt and mild smoke. The flavour is of roasted malts, caramel, mild smoke and salt, dark fruits and licorice. The alcohol content comes in at 7%. When I read salt and licorice the first time I was worried as that is the only way I do not enjoy licorice but luckily both are subdued in this beer and it rounds out into a very nice flavourful treat.
