Out On The Shield – Said The Whale

Lines – Said The Whale

Vancouver’s Said The Whale (@saidthewhale) have been known to dabble in a variety of musical styles, creating songs that treat you to both rustic folk arrangements and more intense rock-inspired riffs.  Songs such as “Out on the Shield” exemplify their amalgamation of wit and emotionally driven vocals, masterfully intertwining pounding percussion with a fiercely catchy chorus.  The final product is an upbeat, indie pop tune that could very well be the anthem for fist-pumpers around the world.

Despite their tendency to mix things up, the band maintains a consistent ability to churn out sunny tunes with delightfully youthful and energetic harmonies. The quintet is expected to continue this trend with the November 8th release of their newest EP, New Brighton. The album will be composed of B-sides from their forthcoming LP, which is set to be out early next year.  Until then, Said the Whale will be touring the U.S. and giving us a little taste of everything good to come.  Check them out when they roll through your hometown.
