Safari Chic Feat. Chico's

Chico's latest 'Safari Chic' collection is inspired by the beauty of Serengeti. I was quite amazed by their modern interpretation of animal print, utilitarian details and dusty hues. When my dear friend Alison asked me if I'd like to collaborate with her, Sylvia and Angelica on a style shoot. It was a no brainer. Firstly, a chance to spend time with these boss bases (which is you have been keeping up with me, I haven't been out and about in the blogger world for a few years) and secondly an opportunity to give these hue my own twist.
I decided to go with the Floral Faux Suede Trench Coat because colors! Even when the hues are brown, I have to bring in the color any which way I can. The free hand brush stroke flowers and branches on this piece are reminiscent of the landscape painting techniques of artists from China's Ming and Qing Dynasties. I styled this statement piece with a slimming pants and shirt underneath with a statement cuff and stylish earrings. After the shoot, I stepped out in the exact look for a date and the number of compliments I received convinced me that this trench was the right choice for the season.
