Sadie Hawkins | Getting Ready

Sadie Hawkins | Getting Ready
If you've read my previous post, you would know I recently attend my school's annual Sadie Hawkins. As mentioned, school affairs aren't exactly my cup of tea- however, getting dressed up is (duh). Here are few somewhat behind the scenes pictures of my regimen for fancier occasions. Hope you enjoy!
P.S. You're (sort of) looking at the new owner of Photoshop! I've been playing around with it a lot, and seeing as it isn't too different from GIMP, I can tell this will be a lovely friendship. Let me know what you guys think of the editing and have a nice weekend.

After applying my typical face makeup, I swiped on M.A.C's 'Well Dressed' pressed powder blush. It adds a little flush to your face that looks surprisingly natural in pictures and quite subtle. Also, there isn't any sight of obnoxious glitter, which is always a plus.

Probably the most important part in my routine any day- eyebrows. To me, eyebrows shape your face and can wipe off or at least distract from a tired face almost instantly. I use the Anastasia 'Brow Wiz' in Brunette, which is a double sided kinda deal, with a comb and pencil on each side. Score.

With eyes, my makeup usually goes one of two ways: "extremely dramatic, Black Swan shining moment" or "au naturale". Oddly enough, I found a happy medium for this dance, utilizing my Naked 3 Palette. I couldn't tell you what I applied here, but for the actual soirée, I used 'Dust' on the inner corner, 'Nooner'/'Limit' on the lid, and 'Liar' for the crease. To complete the shimmery look, I swiped on my trusty L'Oréal Fiber Lash Mascara.

For my lips, I've been gravitating towards more bold colors for winter and for a general change. Tonight, I went for the my-lip-color-but-better appearance, opting for my L'Oréal Color Riche Balm in '219 Plush Plum'. With my almost seasonal chapped lips, I slabbed on my EOS lip balm prior to the color balm, making application that much easier and bearable.

I try to refrain from using heat on my hair, but hey, it is inevitable sometimes. I figured I might as well tame my hair for at least one night. I'm not too keen on curling my hair the traditional way, but rather just wrapping it around the barrel for a less structured look. To my surprise, my hair even lasted until the next day for some not-so hideous second day curls. If you were curious, I attempted to use my Hot Tools '1' inch curling iron.
