Rust developer FacePunch Studios has hinted that they are looking into bringing the game onto next gen systems, but is a long way off from confirming a console port for the survival sandbox.
Founder Garry Newman thanked Microsoft for the development kits on Twitter. He was then asked by Kotaku’s Stephen Totilo whether he intended to bring Rust to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, or whether he was “just tinkering”.
“A bit of both,” Newman replied. “Neither have an Early Access program as far as I know – so anything we do is a while off.” Rust is currently in alpha on Steam Early Access, which has also accumalated over a million players.
