Congrats to our local Oregon chapter of the Barefoot Runners Society for successfully finishing this year's Hood to Coast relay!
The race, now in it's 31st year, stretches 199 miles from Oregon's Mt. Hood to the coastal town of Seaside, making it the longest relay race in the world. Although the race started in 1982 with only 8 teams, there are now 1000 teams participating each year. That's over 12,000 runners!
Soft Star was proud to sponsor the Barefoot Runners Society team. While several members of their group ran barefoot, others wore a variety of minimalist shoes... including quite a few Soft Star RunAmocs. We were thrilled this week to receive a batch of photos from their adventure (scroll down to see). They show how creative runners can get for this race, both in team names and costumes.
