It is reported that a person armed with a firearm had entered a retail shop located on Thimbirigasyaya Road in Narahenpita on Thursday evening (22) and
threatened the shop owner and was about to rob money, when the owner fearlessly took an iron pole and tried to hit him and the thief had fled, the police said.
Police said that this shop is located next to the shop owner’s house. According to the police, the owner of the shop had picked up an iron pole and chased the person with the firearm to assault him and then he had run away.
Narahenpita Police is carrying out investigations to identify this robber.
