INTRODUCING ROADS LESS TRAVELED RELAY RACES
Roads Less Traveled Relay Races is the new series name for our relay races – the Wild West Relay in Colorado and the Green Mountain Relay in Vermont. Same race directors, same organized races, just a new series name to distinguish our unique races.
HOW RLT RELAYS ARE DIFFERENT:
- Scenic routes, off the beaten path – featuring: full moon, covered bridges, waterfalls, mountain views and so much more.
- Relay registration capped at 100 – 150 teams.
- We choose roads that don’t have a lot of vehicle traffic by design.
- We give back to the communities our races go through via our non-profit organization Volunteers With a Purpose, Inc.
- We are a member of 1% For the Planet – one percent of our total revenue is donated to environmental organizations.
- A fun adventure for all level of runners.
Three of the most common comments we receive each year is how scenic the routes of our relay races were, complements on the high quality of the organization of our races, and how fantastic the volunteers were.
One of the more common complaints I read about other relay races is the amount of traffic – both from the excessive number of teams the relay allows to register, and of the amount of traffic on the roads that relay course uses.
Our relay races are capped at between 100 – 150 teams as our goal is the quality of your experience, not how big we can make the race.

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION FOR THE GREEN MOUNTAIN RELAY EXTENDED
Early Bird registration for the Green Mountain Relay in Vermont, held June 23rd – 24th, ends January 31st. The GMR very well may be the most scenic relay route in the United States. The course crosses seven covered bridges as you travel through the rolling Vermont countryside.
Remember, by registering for the GMR, you will help support the small towns that were hit so hard by Hurricane Irene last summer.
We are a small budget, volunteer organization in which about 35% of our funds come from the Green Mountain Relay. Thank you to all the participants of the GMR. You really help our organization to help the community. Hartland Winter Trails 2011
